Indecent by Corinne Sullivan

Corrine Sullivan’s debut novel tells the story of Imogene, a recent college graduate who takes a job teaching at an elite prep school. But when she develops an illicit flirtation with one of her students, she puts her job on the line and starts to become someone she no longer recognizes.

Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi

Don’t let this book’s 500-plus page count intimidate you — it’s so full of action that you’ll rip through chapters before you know it. Tomi Adeyemi’s epic novel is set in Orïsha, a fantasy world unlike any you’ve ever read before, and follows Zélie, a young woman who goes on a quest to restore magic and take down the oppressive regime responsible for her mother’s murder.

Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney

If you’re looking for a Gone Girl–esque fix, then this is the book for you. Sometimes I Lie is the story of a woman named Amber Reynolds, who wakes up in a hospital with no recollection of how she got there. Through a combination of flashbacks and present observations she starts to piece it all together, but judging by the book’s title, there’ll be many twists before she finds her answers.

People Like Us by Dana Mele

Imagine Gossip Girl crossed with Pretty Little Liars and add a dash of Thirteen Reasons Why, and you’ll get People Like Us, a thriller about a queen bee named Kay who gets drawn into a murder investigation after a girl in town goes missing. The dead girl leaves her a scavenger hunt to help solve the murder, but of course this just means Kay ends up in hot water with the police. Has she never seen PLL?
